As I decided to check out cnn.com now, I was faced with a disturbing picture of bags, clothes and shoes on the floor with splatters of blood. Currently, Gunmen took hostage of 9 locations in Mumbai, India, killing over 75 people. and injuring hundreds. They are targeting international locations and Caucasian victims. I recommend you turn on your TV and watch the news.

We all experienced it - random calls at the middle of night, people who call and hang up after hearing your voice, or prank calls. I certainly have. While most people believe there is nothing that they can do (other than unsuccessfully confront them through the phone), there is in fact a way to find out who’s been calling you. The Reverse Phone Search allows you to search for detailed information on a phone number. www.nationwidephonelookup.com in particular has an easy phone number search bar on the side of their home page for easy access, with even the option of by state phone look up.

With the new netbook craze and companies producing new netbooks almost biweekly (seriously!), I wonder if there is something to these netbooks, or is it an emerging trend? (You can find out more about what’s available and news regarding netbooks at liliputing.com)
I use to own a netbook. In fact, I owned two - the first generation EEE PC (701 model) and then later exchanged for the 900 model. Of course I did not have the privilege of experiencing the newer atom processors in these little notebooks, but from my experience, I much prefer my current notebook - IBM thinkpad x31, which I got used (but still in excellent condition) for about $220 on ebay.
With all netbooks having essentially the same specs (1.6Ghz atom processor, 1GB ram, HDD/SSD, 9/10″ screen), what makes this market so hot? Could it be the small form factor these little guys come in? Or how cute they look because of it? Dell has recently launched a 12″ low performance laptop which is cheap compared to other 12″ laptops in the market, which is blurring the line of netbook and notebook.
It could be the low cost, high portability and suitable performance of everyday needs (which made the first EEE PC so popular). In general, most people who buy high end, or average end laptops use it primarily for email, chatting, and other tasks that barely take any power to run smoothly. We also want small portable laptops to carry around with us without being too heavy. I believe Asus was dead on on what a netbook should be when they first came out with their EEE PC but has been lost in recent competition.
I suggest, however, getting a cheaper, much better build 12″ thinkpad with similar or higher performance. But that is because I find most netbooks to be too confined, and while they are improving on the keyboards, it’s just not enough for me.
